Dr Fiona Gibney - Accompanist - Senior & Legacy Choirs
Dr Fiona Gibney studied at the RSAMD (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), during which time she was recipient of the following prizes: the John Ireland Prize for Solo Piano; the Dunbar-Gerber Prize for Chamber Music; and the Agnes Millar Harmony and Counterpoint prize. After graduating with a BA (Hons), Fiona continued her studies at post-graduate level, focusing on Chamber Music and Accompaniment. She regularly performs as an accompanist/pianist and is Senior Section accompanist for the Glasgow Youth Choir, a role she has enjoyed for 20 years this year! Fiona has enjoyed numerous tours with the choir both at home and abroad.
Fiona balances her active performing schedule with a busy career in education and a busier(!) family life (Fiona and her husband Chris have recently welcomed their third child, baby Clara).
In 2017 she graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Doctorate in Education and has since published a number of articles in peer-reviewed education journals.
