Join the Choir
Come join the Glasgow Youth Choir for an opportunity to make beautiful music and create lasting friendships! Our choir is open to all skill levels and we offer a welcoming and encouraging atmosphere. We meet weekly for practice and perform in concerts throughout the year. Our choir also participates in competitions, festivals, and other special events. All staff and volunteers are PVG-checked, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all members. Come join us for a chance to sing, have fun, and make music together.
Audition
New members are welcome to join the choir up until the October week holiday, after which entry to the GYC will close until we re-open again for new members during the month of January.
If you would rather do the audition in person, instead of doing the recordings, please let us know and we will give you a time, on the date of your first rehearsal, to sing for Audrey in person.
Here is a message from Audrey about the audition process.
Step 1
Using a phone, record a short video of your child singing one of their favourite songs, in any style. Please don’t worry about the recording quality, as long as Audrey can hear them singing.
They can sing along with accompaniment on an instrument, with a backing track, or unaccompanied.
Step 2
Using a phone, record a video of your child singing Happy Birthday (to any name they choose!) with no accompaniment.
Step 3
Send Audrey the video by email to glasgowyouthchoir@yahoo.co.uk. If the video is too large to send by email then you can send it by WeTransfer.

Step 4
After hearing the audition, Audrey will provide feedback and let you know if your child has been accepted into the choir. They can then come along to rehearsals for the first month, and see how they feel about joining the GYC, before becoming a full member.

Junior Choir
Age: 5-11 (P1-P7)
Rehearsals: Saturday: Teenies (P1 - P3) 10.00am - 11.00 am, Juniors (P1 - P4) 10:30am - 12.00pm
Location: Glasgow City Centre
Senior Choir
Age: 12-22 (S1+)
Rehearsals: Thursday, 6-8pm
Location: Glasgow City Centre
